Welcome to Redditch Explorer Scouts

Explorer Scouting in Redditch started in January 2003 with three units - one in the North, one in the middle and one in the South.

Explorer Scout Units are the responsibility of the District rather than being part of an existing Scout Group. The Units are, however, closely associated with a number of Scout Groups.

The Explorer Scouts are normally associated with one Unit, but can (and are encouraged to) join in with other Units programmes, as well as the District programme.

There will soon be a Young Leader's Explorer Scout Unit, for members wishing to help at the younger section's meetings. The Young Leaders Unit is a District Unit and will only meet once or twice a term, but Young Leaders may, if they wish, join in with other Unit's programmes.

By being part of the District, members will benefit from access to a wider pool of resources, in terms of equipment, accommodation and skilled leaders, opening up opportunities for more varied and challenging activities than ever before.
